VANCOUVER, 27 NOV | Canadian carrier, WestJet, has announced a network expansion into the United States with a new service from Vancouver (YVR) to Austin (AUS). The all-new 3x weekly service begins May 11, 2025 with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Outbound service WS1704 departs YVR at 6pm, arriving in AUS at 12.17am. Inbound service WS1705 later departs AUS at 8am, arriving in YVR at 10.38am.
Tickets for May 11th in Economy Class are currently priced at USD 118.46 one-way. The jet comprises of 12 Premium seats, 24 Extended Comfort seats and 138 standard Economy seats. Complimentary meals are offered for this 4 hour and 20 minute service, each seat contains in-flight entertainment (via personal device), in-seat power, and WiFi (for a fee).
Air Canada also operates on the same sector as a seasonal service with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with one-way tickets going at USD 189 in May 2025.
With this network addition, WestJet now flies to 15 US destinations from Vancouver with up to 93 weekly departures out of the region during peak summer travel. Besides Austin, the carrier has services to Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Honolulu, Maui, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, Palm Springs, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa from Vancouver. From Austin, WestJet also operates a seasonal service to Calgary.
