Scandinavian Airlines and Vietnam Airlines Enter Codeshare Partnership

STOCKHOLM, 13 JUN | Today, at the Vietnam–Sweden Business Forum held in Stockholm, Sweden, Vietnam Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines announced that they will be embarking on a codeshare partnership.

The partnership, formed between the two SkyTeam members, is designed to enhance travel convenience, expand connectivity, and offer passengers the ability to earn and redeem SAS EuroBonus or LotusMiles points across both networks. The agreement will allow passengers to book itineraries that include segments operated by either airline through a single reservation, making travel between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and the Scandinavian capitals Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo more flexible and efficient

This announcement comes just weeks after Vietnam Airlines announced they will be launching direct flights linking Copenhagen (CPH) with Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) from 16 December 2025, marking the first non-stop link between the 2 countries. The airline will operate the route 3x weekly with their fleet of Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Vietnam Airlines' 787-9s come in a three-class configuration, including 28 lie-flat business class seats, 35 premium economy and 211 economy class seats.

The outbound service VN39 departs SGN at 10.45pm, arriving the next day in CPH at 6am. The inbound service will then depart at 10.50am, arriving in SGN at 4.30am the next day. With this new codeshare agreement, passengers travelling between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen will be able to connect onto SAS' network to the other Scandinavian capitals.

Ticket sales using this codeshare are expected to begin in early July.
