Singapore Airlines Announces S$1.1 Billion Airbus A350 Cabin Retrofit Programme

November 4, 2024

SINGAPORE, 4 NOV | One of the world's best airlines- Singapore Airlines, has announced today a S$1.1 Billion (US$835 Million) cabin retrofit to their fleet of 41 Airbus A350-900 and Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft.

With this new retrofit, you can now fly First Class on the world's longest flight- spanning nearly 19 hours between New York JFK and Singapore. This is because for the very first time, the airline will be implementing 4 brand-new enhanced First Class seats on their Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft.

Post-retrofit, the 34 A350-900 long-haul aircraft will be configured with 42 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy Class seats, and 192 Economy Class seats. The seven A350-900ULR variants will feature four First Class seats, 70 Business Class seats, and 58 Premium Economy Class seats.

The airline likely intended to debut this product with their future Boeing 777X aircraft, but due to the ever-increasing delays, they have decided otherwise.

It is also worthy to note that the A350-900LH variant has 5 additional seats in Economy (187) compared to its current configuration (192), which could indicate that either the premium products have become smaller, or the seats are more crammed together back in Economy.
