January 30, 2023

STAVANGER, 30 JAN | A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Stavanger (SVG) has been diverted to Oslo (OSL) following a general emergency alert (Squawk 7700). Flight LH878 was scheduled to land in Stavanger at 11.50am local time, but has since been delayed.

The reason for the diversion was due to wind gusts over 40kts, and attempted landing at Stavanger airport multiple times, to no avail. The flight- LH878, was operated by D-AIBH, a 10.5-year-old Airbus A319-100, delivered in July 2012. It is painted in the special Star Alliance livery.

A repatriation flight will be arranged soon for affected passengers once the weather conditions improve.
