BENGALURU, 12 NOV | India's largest airline- IndiGo will embark on a major expansion into the Malaysian market this December with flights to Langkawi and Penang.
Services from Bengaluru to Langkawi have been confirmed with flights starting 16 December 2024 using Airbus A320 family aircraft with an estimated flight time of 4 Hours and 15 Minutes. The route will be operated as a daily service, marking the first direct connection between Langkawi and India. It is also the third international destination from Langkawi besides Singapore and Dubai.

Flights from Chennai to Penang will make its debut in due time, with sources citing a 3x weekly service from 20 December 2024, although still not available for bookings on IndiGo's website just yet. It will also be the first direct link from the city to India.
Both of these destinations are prime holiday locations, marking a great strategic move for the airline as they monopolise on the route
The airline continues to fly to Kuala Lumpur International (KLIA), maintaining their recently established codeshare agreement with Malaysia Airlines.
