BALI, 16 OCT | Indian airlines, Vistara and IndiGo, are reportedly in talks with the general manager of Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport for flights between Indian destinations and Bali.
Mr Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport, stated that Indian tourists usually come by transit from various neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam faster. Therefore, with direct flights, it will make it easier, and increase visits by Indian tourists.
It is estimated that the two carriers will begin flights between India and Bali in 2024 as "Intense communications" are underway, and time is needed to prepare.
As of now, the India-Indonesia market is relatively underserved, with only one direct connection, which is IndiGo's Mumbai to Jakarta daily service which began operations on 7 August this year.
