HONG KONG, 21 NOV | According to AeroRoutes, Hong Kong Airlines is all set to make its return back to Canada, with flights to Vancouver relaunching 18 January 2025. The newly relaunched service will be operated 2x weekly with Airbus A330-300 aircraft. It will be the first time in nearly 5 years since the airline flew to Canada, with their previous Vancouver service terminating on February 10, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flight Schedule:
The outbound sevice HX80 departs Hong Kong at 10.10pm/11.50pm, arriving in Vancouver at 6.10pm/7.50pm after 11 hours and 35 minutes, on the same day.
The inbound service HX81 departs Vancouver at 1.05am, arriving the next day in Hong Kong at 7.00am.
The airline's A330-300s consists of a 2-class configuration. This includes 32 Business Class seats and 260 Economy Class seats, with inflight entertainment screens. The Business Class seating on this version is configured in a 1-2-1 arrangement with seats that transform into fully-flat beds. The carrier currently has 9 of the jets with an average age of 10.6 years.
Hong Kong Airlines faces direct competition on the route with well-renowned Cathay Pacific and Air Canada operating with newer or more spacious aircraft. On 18 January, Air Canada is offering one-way tickets at USD$881 and Cathay Pacific for USD$1,012. Tickets are not yet open for Hong Kong Airlines' service.
