Flybe Files For Administration Once Again

January 28, 2023

UK, 28 JAN | Flybe has ceased all operations and filed for administration a second time, less then a year since its re-launch. Originally founded in 1979, Flybe was a popular budget airline- once the largest regional airline in Europe, back in 2006. However, due to troubles as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline filed for administration in March 2020.

Since then, the airline reworked its strategies and relaunched 2 years later in March 2022. However, it began as a rocky start for them- plagued with aircraft delivery delays and operational issues.

Sadly, today, the airline has announced it has gone into administration once again, and will cease all operations indefinitely. While the airline had a bright future ahead- with flights launching to Bergerac, Aberdeen and Southampton later in the year, financial issues got to them. At the time of its ceasure, the airline had 8 Q400 aircraft, with an additional 4 on order.

Affected passengers are to make arrangements with their respective travel agents and seek compensation from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

As of now, it is still uncertain if the historical airline will relaunch for the third time.
