Etihad Airways Rumoured To Order Over 80 Aircraft

DUBAI AIRSHOW DAY 2 | November 14, 2023

DUBAI AIRSHOW (Day 2), 14 NOV | Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways is highly speculated to place a massive order for over 80 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow following several hints and their newly highlighted "Journey 2030" program.

As part of the airline's Journey 2030 program, the airline aims to double its fleet from 88 aircraft to over 160 aircraft in 2030 to focus on short and medium-haul routes and destinations. This highlights the high possibility of a short/medium-haul aircraft order. The airline currently has a fleet of A320s and A321s which are on average 8 to 10 years of age, so the carrier could be looking to get the neo variants of the type. Boeing's 737 MAX and Airbus' A220-300 aircraft are also a possibility.

Yesterday, the airline also hinted a possible order in their X account, which generated quite some buzz.
