China Airlines Orders 8 Boeing 787s

June 20, 2023

PARIS AIR SHOW (DAY 2), 20 JUN | China Airlines has started off Day 2 of the 2023 Paris Airshow with an order with Boeing. The airline has confirmed an order for 8 more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, following the order for 16 787-9s last year.

Additionally, the airline has converted 6 of their Boeing 787-9s on order to the larger 787-10, to add flexibility and capacity on its regional network as passenger demand continues to rise above pre-pandemic levels, and becomes the newest customer for the type!

With this order, the carrier will introduce 24 super-efficient 787s over the next several years, strengthening the airline's existing global network. The 787 enables China Airlines to reduce fuel use and emissions by 20%, which will support the airline to meet its sustainability goals.
