Batik Air Malaysia Announces Dubai Service

August 1, 2023

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 AUGUST | Batik Air Malaysia has announced their newest destination as part of their expansion of services to the Middle East- Dubai. From 29 October 2023, the Malaysian budget carrier will operate 4x weekly nonstop services between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Dubai-International (DXB) onboard their newest Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

The outbound leg, OD713 departs KUL at 2305, arriving at 0225 after an overnight flight in DXB (local time). The inbound leg, OD714, then departs at 0405, arriving in KUL at 1535. The average flight time for this service is 7h 20mins. As mentioned earlier, one of the airline's 16 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets.

The only other operator on the route is Emirates, operating daily Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 services- which could lead to fierce competition between the carriers. However, Batik Air remains the cheapest option due to their budget prices. For a one-way ticket on Economy Class for the route launch date, Emirates costs 468 USD while Batik Air costs a mere 324 USD, which is significantly lower.

Tickets are on sale now.
