Alaska Airlines Orders 110 Boeing Jets

January 7, 2026

SEATTLE, 7 JAN | American carrier, Alaska Airlines has placed their largest ever order to date for 110 brand-new jets from Boeing. The order consists of 105 Boeing 737-10 (MAX 10) aircraft, together with 5 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, bringing their total order book with Boeing to 245 aircraft.

The airline currently operates 94 Boeing 737 MAX jets, consisting of the smaller 737-9 and 737-8 variants. This new order, which also consists of options for 35 more, will bring the airline's total 737 MAX order to 174 airplanes, which will play a key role in fleet renewal of their aging 737s.

In addition, with the new 787 order, the airline will operate a total of 17 Dreamliners in the future, consisting of 787-9s and 787-10s. The options exercised today for 5 new 787-10s comes from the Hawaiian Airlines 2018 order for the type, which was inherited by Alaska following their merger in 2024. According to the airline, this will enable them to fly to at least 12 long-haul international destinations from Seattle by 2030.

On the topic of their Boeing 787s, Alaska Airlines will also welcome their first 787-9 painted in Alaska's global livery, drawing inspiration from the natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis. This year also marks the airline's 60th year of partnership with Boeing, which started with deliveries of the Boeing 727 in 1966.
