Akasa Air To Begin International Operations to the Middle East

INDIA, 11 OCT | India's newest airline, Akasa Air has been granted flying rights to several Middle Eastern countries and is set to begin their long-awaited international operations shortly.

Earlier in the year, the airline recieved their 20th aircraft, which enabled them to operate on international routes. Today, they have recieved the permission to operate flights to destinations in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, contrasting to their current domestic network.

Interestingly, the airline has not been granted permissions to operate services to the UAE, which is one of the most crucial aviation markets from India. This is likely because the current bilateral agreement for flights between the two countries have been fully used up, meaning that the airline will have to wait until changes are made.

The airline is all set to announce their international network soon, operating to these 3 countries using their fleet of modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 (and 8-200) aircraft. According to sources, flights to Southeast Asia is also on the horizon for 2024.
