According to the airline, the new route aims to draw connecting passengers using the airline's "Fly Thru" service to connect to domestic destinations such as Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Pattaya and Hat Yai. However, the timing seems to suggest that the route is catered more to Thai tourists visiting India. With the addition of direct flights to Delhi, AirAsia now operates 13 connections between Thailand and India, with this being the first by Thai AirAsia X.
Flights are currently available at an affordable price of THB 3290/INR 7963/USD 94. While the airline may be the only flying on this route to Don Mueang, SpiceJet, Air India and Thai Airways do operate direct services to Bangkok's main airport- Suvarnabhumi Airport.
