Lufthansa Flight LH575 Diverts to Luanda

December 3, 2022

LUANDA, 3 DECEMBER | A Lufthansa flight from Cape Town (CPT) to Munich (MUC) today was diverted to Luanda (LAD) after declaring emergency (Squawk 7700). The reason for diversion is currently unknown, but likely due to a medical emergency. It came to a stop in Luanda at 2pm UTC, after circling around the airport to lose fuel.

The flight, LH575, which departed more than 2 hours late, was operated by D-AIXE, a 5.4-year-old Airbus A350-900.

We are currently awaiting a statement from Lufthansa regarding the incident.
