ZURICH, 28 JUL | Switzerland's national carrier, SWISS has announced today that they will offer unlimited, complimentary access to a brand-new internet service, which will allow passengers in all classes of travel to send and receive free text and picture messages via their smartphone, laptop or tablet throughout their flight.

The new service enables passengers to do so in popular messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram- available on all long-haul flights from Wednesday, 2 August 2023 onwards. However, in order to surf the web or access the internet for other means, passengers still have to purchase internet access for CHF25 to 35 (excluding First Class passengers- complimentary).

According to the airline, all the new services - the free chat option and the supplementary Wi-Fi 4 Hours and Wi-Fi Premium packages will offer unlimited data volumes, enabling even data-heavy content to be easily consumed. Only video streaming services will be deactivated, to ensure that adequate bandwidth is simultaneously available for as many passengers as possible.

SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour, said:
