Christmas in Aviation | Santa's Sleigh Departs The North Pole & Finnair is The Official Airline of Santa Claus Once Again

North Pole, 23 December 2021 | Santa's sleigh departs the North Pole (YLT) earlier today as seen by FlightRadar24 and at the time of writing, has passed over Greenland.

The magical sleigh is currently at 38,000 ft and seems to be maintaining that altitude. It has an aircraft registration of HOHOHO and is likely to be heading to New Zealand and Australia just in time for Christmas eve!

Also, in other Christmas news, Finnair has been named "The Official Airline of Santa Claus" once again! According to the Finnish airline, it is due to the deep relationship and collaboration with the Santa Claus Foundation that donates annual presents to the children of the world.

Every Christmas, Finnair will plaster an Airbus A321 with a "Happy Holidays!" sticker. The aircraft's registration is OH-LZL, which is 7.7 years old. It typically will fly from Helsinki to Tenerife or Kittila.

Also, on behalf of the Planeopedia team, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas!
