False Bomb Threat On Volotea Flight Leads To Emergency Landing

Yesterday, a 17.1 year-old Volotea Airbus A319, with registration EC-MTD made an emergency landing at La Coruna following a false bomb threat.

The aircraft, operating Volotea Flight V7-3538 from Bilbao to La Coruña, was told to make an emergency landing after a call was sent to the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre. As the nearest airport at the time was their destination, La Coruna, they proceeded with their flight. Upon arrival at the destination, all 111 passengers and crew disembarked the aircraft.

Security checks revealed that the bomb threat was a hoax. No passengers connections or plans were distrupted as the flight performed an emergency landing at its destination.
